A zipper is a precisely engineered fastening system made up of several components that work together to ensure smooth operation. Here's a breakdown of each part:
The tape is the fabric strip on both sides of the zipper teeth. It's typically made from durable polyester, but can also be crafted from cotton or vinyl based on application needs. This tape allows the zipper to be sewn onto garments or other products.
The slider is the movable part that opens or closes the zipper by guiding the teeth into or out of alignment. Sliders come in various shapes, sizes, and finishes depending on the zipper’s function—whether for bags, jackets, jeans, or upholstery.
These are small components fixed at either end of the zipper track to prevent the slider from sliding off. The design and material of the stops may vary based on the zipper type and intended usage—especially in heavy-duty or high-mobility applications.
At Ziptech Industries, we manufacture a wide range of high-quality zippers tailored to suit diverse product needs. Each type is engineered for specific uses, offering durability, smooth operation, and reliable performance.
Available in both L-shaped and C-shaped coil designs, these zippers are lightweight, flexible, and resistant to damage—ideal for garments, bags, tents, and general-purpose applications.
Designed to be hidden within the seam, invisible zippers offer a clean, seamless look, making them perfect for dresses, skirts, and formalwear. Reverse coil zippers provide a sleek, finished exterior, often used in fashion and outerwear.
Known for their strength and classic appearance, metal zippers are commonly used in jeans, leather products, and heavy-duty items. They are available in various finishes like nickel, brass, and antique.
These feature individually molded teeth made from strong plastic. They offer excellent water and chemical resistance, making them ideal for outdoor gear, luggage, and children’s products.
Our zippers can be trimmed to custom lengths, and the top/bottom stops or pin boxes can be configured based on your product’s specific requirements.
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your zippers, it’s important to follow the guidelines below during application, storage, and usage:
1. Test Before Final Application
While all Ziptech zippers go through strict quality checks, we strongly recommend testing them under actual usage conditions before permanently attaching them to your product. Once stitched, the responsibility for performance lies with the end user.
2. Allow Slider Movement Space
Make sure there is adequate room for the slider to move freely after the zipper has been sewn onto the fabric. Restricted movement can lead to premature damage or failure.
3. Avoid Using Rubber Bands for Storage
Do not use rubber bands to bundle or store zippers, as this can deform the tape and teeth over time.
4. Use Plastic Stoppers for Baby Products
For baby garments or accessories, always use zippers equipped with plastic stoppers to enhance safety and avoid potential hazards.
5. Select the Right Zipper Type and Size
Choose a zipper that matches the product’s intended load and application. Using the incorrect type can affect durability and user experience.
6. Do Not Over-Dye Zippers
Re-dyeing zippers after production is not recommended, as it may compromise the zipper’s material integrity and color consistency.
7. Avoid Mixing Zipper Halves
Swapping one side of a zipper with a different one (even of the same size) can cause misalignment and functionality issues.
8. User Responsibility for Improper Application
Ziptech Industries is not liable for issues resulting from improper installation, incorrect usage, or modifications made after purchase.
Proper care during laundering helps maintain the performance and appearance of zippers. Follow these washing guidelines to protect both the zipper and the garment:
1. Fully Close Zippers Before Washing
Always ensure the zipper is completely closed before washing to prevent damage to the teeth and slider, and to avoid snagging other items.
2. Turn Garments Inside Out
Flip garments inside out to reduce friction on the zipper surface and prolong the life of both the zipper and the fabric.
3. Use Correct Chemical Dosage
Only use the recommended amount of detergents and chemicals to avoid weakening zipper components or fabric.
4. Control Water Temperature
The washing machine temperature should not exceed 150°F (approximately 66°C), especially when washing items with plastic or metal zippers.
5. Perform a Final Rinse After Treatments
If garments have undergone treatments like stone washing, ensure a clean final rinse is done to remove any residue.
6. Dry Garments Promptly After Washing
Dry items as soon as possible after washing to prevent rust, mildew, or color bleeding—particularly with metal zippers.
7. Test Before Using Strong Alkaline Solutions
If washing with strong alkaline chemicals, perform a sample wash first. Alkaline substances may react with the surface finish on metal zippers, causing discoloration or damage.
8. Avoid Mixing Dark Zippers with Light Fabrics in Harsh Washes
Dark-colored zippers may transfer dye to light-colored garments during washing with strong or abrasive chemicals. Test washing is recommended.
